Cellnex, a Sustainability referent, recognized by Time, S&P Global and EcoVadis

  • The company has been ranked among the world’s top 20 most sustainable companies, placing 18th globally and 3rd in Spain, according to the Time and Statista ranking.
  • Cellnex has once again been included in the prestigious S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2025, remaining for the second consecutive year in the Dow Jones Europe Index.
  • Receiving the EcoVadis Platinum Medal for the second year in a row highlights the company’s ongoing efforts and leadership in the sector.

Barcelona, July 3, 2025.- Cellnex, Europe’s leading telecommunications infrastructure operator, has been ranked for the second consecutive year among the 500 most sustainable companies in the world, this year placing 18th globally and 3rd in the communications infrastructure sector and in Spain, according to the Time.

This classification, based on a selection of 5,000 companies, was developed by Time and data firm Statista using a methodology that heavily weighs climate commitments, social aspects, transparency in information disclosure, and the quality of sustainability reporting.

Cellnex has also qualified for inclusion in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2025, remaining for the second year in a row in the Dow Jones Europe Index. On Thursday, June 26, our Global ESG Director, Alicia Fernandez Del Viso, received the framed certificate recognizing the company’s achievement. She stated: “It is an honor to receive this recognition on behalf of Cellnex. We face a clear challenge to continue working toward defining our 2030 vision aligned with our business strategy. We’ve already made significant progress in sustainability, and now we must go further by fostering cooperation with clients, suppliers, and peers to drive sector-wide sustainability efforts.” She added: “To ensure our new sustainability strategy reflects the values we all share, we’ve invited all Cellnex employees to participate in its definition.”

The Sustainability Yearbook recognizes companies within their industries that have demonstrated dedication, resilience, and strengths in corporate sustainability, adopting it as a core principle of their current operations and forward-looking strategies.

Cellnex has also been awarded with the  Platinum Medal for the second consecutive year by EcoVadis, a global platform that evaluates corporate sustainability based on a thorough analysis of policies, actions, and results in areas such as the environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. This recognition places Cellnex among the top 1% of companies evaluated in the past 12 months, achieving a 93/100 percentile score.

These achievements come after nearly completing the company’s 2021–2025 sustainability strategy. During this period, Cellnex has: Reduced its carbon footprint by 71%; Reached 91% renewable electricity supply (expected to reach 100% by 2025); Surpassed its 2025 target for women in leadership roles, reaching 34%; Certified 93% of critical suppliers under ESG criteria; Trained 97% of employees in sustainability. Additionally, Cellnex has been recognized for five consecutive years on the CDP A List.

By setting clear goals and commitments, Cellnex aims to continue improving its sustainability performance while extending its commitment across its value chain and key stakeholders.

The company is firmly committed to creating environmental, social, and economic value, contributing to the progress and well-being of the communities and countries in which it operates. This is achieved through the construction and maintenance of resilient, sustainable telecommunications infrastructure that ensures safe access for workers and protects the environment and biodiversity.

Cellnex will continue advancing on its sustainability journey, working closely with stakeholders to achieve its goals and contribute to global well-being. This strategy is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2030 Agenda.
