Meliá Hotel and Sanitas Hospital
DAS & Small Cells
Pryconsa has developed two buildings in Valdebebas (Madrid, Spain): a hotel for the prestigious Meliá chain and a state-of-the-art hospital.
To address these challenges, Cellnex designed and implemented a passive DAS solution with an independent sector for each building (hotel and hospital).
A passive DAS system powered by active equipment from the three main operators was selected, as the use of a donor antenna was not viable due to the poor quality of the available signal and the high risk of network saturation.
This option proved to be the most effective in providing reliable coverage across both buildings, while also being the most competitive in terms of cost compared to an active DAS system
Challenge
The project faced a key requirement: ensuring high-quality mobile coverage inside the buildings and sufficient capacity to meet users’ connectivity demands. However, the location, within a newly developed urban area, lacked adequate mobile infrastructure from operators, leading to signal issues and a high risk of network saturation.
Solution
A 5G-ready DAS solution that meets today’s needs and ensures tomorrow’s connectivity.
Cellnex provides full operation and maintenance (O&M) services, including infrastructure upkeep and ongoing coordination with mobile operators for the management of their equipment. This integrated model simplifies management for Pryconsa and ensures a reliable, long-term service.
