Airports are crucial sites for international cities like Milan, no longer simply a business card for arriving passengers, but rather connection hubs that are increasingly an integral part of urban areas. This is why we must invest in infrastructures that ensure stable and reliable connectivity.
Thanks to the infrastructure installed by Cellnex, Fastweb + Vodafone, iliad and WINDTRE users will be able to travel and move around efficiently and safely, with a stable, high-performance mobile connection, even in situations of particular crowded situations.
Challenge
Ensuring high-speed mobile connectivity in Milan Malpensa and Milan Linate airports, which handle 26 million and 9.4 million passengers respectively, is now a sine qua non.
Solution
These two DAS infrastructures, installed at Milan Malpensa and Milan Linate airports, comprise a network of 650 mini-antennas with low visual and electromagnetic impact, located in different sectors of both airports, in both the departures and arrivals areas, involving 25 km of optical fibre cables.
Cellnex Italia’s two multi-operator DAS systems have been calibrated to each airport’s architectural layout, developed on several levels and encompassing different types of environments, both operational and commercial, characterised by unique area volumes that also include vertical areas.
