Cellnex appoints Ignacio Jiménez Soler as new Director of Public Affairs

He will join the company from Endesa, where he is Head of Communications

He will replace Toni Brunet, who ends a long period as an executive on 30 June

Barcelona, 13 May 2024. Cellnex has appointed Ignacio Jiménez Soler as the new Global Director of the group’s Public Affairs and Corporate Communication area.

He will take up this new post in July, coinciding with the end of the executive term of Toni Brunet, who has been in charge of the Public Affairs area of Cellnex since the company’s IPO in May 2015, the culmination of an extensive career in various professional projects in the chemicals, pharmaceuticals, energy and transport infrastructure sectors, and also as an entrepreneur.

Ignacio Jiménez, in his capacity as director of the Public Affairs area, will join Cellnex’s Executive Committee.

Ignacio Jiménez Soler has a doctorate cum laude in Information Sciences and a degree in journalism. He has held management positions in communication, public affairs, marketing and innovation in large multinational companies such as Liberty Mutual, BBVA, Telefónica and Enel. He is currently General Manager of Communication at Endesa. He has always combined his professional career with academic and research activity and has written several books and articles on communication, disinformation and innovation.

Cellnex CEO Marco Patuano highlighted that “Ignacio has an extensive experience going back more than 20 years working in large industrial and international service groups. He brings maturity, knowledge and experience to the group in an area that constitutes a core element for Cellnex’s project as a leader and benchmark for telecommunications infrastructure in Europe. Developing an integrated and consistent strategy in the field of Public Affairs and Communication that covers our geographic footprint is key to achieving a constructive collaboration and dialogue with governments, media and institutions.”

Marco Patuano added “In this endeavor, Ignacio will follow in the footsteps of Toni Brunet, who has led the area with professionalism, intelligence and a human touch over these years that have marked the foundation, growth and consolidation of the Cellnex project. I am delighted that Toni will continue to be linked to our project in his capacity as Trustee of the Cellnex Foundation.”
