  • GRESB Infrastructure Public Disclosure 2023 has again recognised Cellnex as the ESG leader in the infrastructure operator sector, with the company increasing its score by 1.2% over the previous year, achieving 86 points out of 100.
  • For the third consecutive year, the company has maintained its position in group “A”, the highest level, compared to the sector average, which remains at “C”.
  • Cellnex Netherlands obtained the highest score (100/100) and Cellnex Switzerland improved its results by 14% in its third year of participation (88/100).

Barcelona, 10 October 2023. Cellnex, the leading European operator of wireless communications infrastructure, consolidates its commitment to ESG matters within its sector of activity. For the third consecutive year, the company once again ranked highest in the sector in the GRESB Infrastructure Public Disclosure 2023, improving its rating once again compared to the previous year (+1.2%) and achieving a score of 86 points out of 100. Cellnex maintains its global rating in group “A” —the highest score level in the GRESB ranking— compared to the sector average, which remains in group “C”.

In addition, Cellnex Netherlands and Cellnex Switzerland participated in the GRESB Infrastructure Asset Assessment that evaluates sustainability performance. Cellnex Netherlands obtained the maximum score (100/100) and Cellnex Switzerland, which participated in this ranking for the third time, managed to improve its score by 14%, rising from 78 to 88 points out of 100 in just three years. While Cellnex Netherlands excels in the area of governance, Cellnex Switzerland obtained the highest score in the social area.

As in 2022, the most outstanding scores obtained by Cellnex are in disclosure, where it surpasses the average of its competitors and the rest of the companies participating in the ranking in all subcategories. Specifically, the best three ratings correspond to the disclosure of its sustainability governance, the disclosure of sustainability implementation, and the disclosure of stakeholder engagement practices.

GRESB data is used by hundreds of capital providers and thousands of asset managers to compare investments across portfolios and better understand the opportunities, risks and decisions that need to be made as the industry transitions to a more sustainable future.
