Federico Protto

Federico Protto is Chief Executive Officer and President of Cellnex Italy and CEO of the Alpine Cluster (Italy, Switzerland, and Austria) at Cellnex Telecom. He has extensive international experience in the telecommunications sector. Among his main roles, he served as General Manager of Intred (until March 2024), CEO and General Manager of Retelit (2015–2023), and Vice President at T-Systems International (2010–2015). He was also Head of the Telecommunications Business Unit at T-Systems Italy (2002–2010), Director of Service Delivery for Southern... [+] Europe at Verizon Business (1999–2002), and Head of Technical, Specialist, and Outsourcing Services at TIM (1994–1999). He graduated with honors in Electronic Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano, earned a Master’s degree in Information and Communications Technology from Cefriel (Politecnico di Milano), and an MBA from SDA Bocconi (Università Bocconi).

Simone Astolfi

Simone Astolfi, a graduate in Management Engineering from the University of L’Aquila, is Finance Director at Cellnex Italy and brings over a decade of experience in the telecommunications sector. In 2013, he began his career at Wind Telecomunicazioni, joining the Real Estate Department, which a couple of years later gave rise to the tower-company project Galata, initiated by Abertis Telecom, now Cellnex Telecom. In 2015, he contributed to the startup of Cellnex Italy, initially serving as Controller within the Finance... [+] Department, before taking on responsibility for the Management Control function in 2018. In 2024, he held the position of Head of Management Control for the Alpine Cluster (expanding his scope to include Cellnex Switzerland and Austria), and in January 2025, he assumed leadership of the Finance Department in Italy.

Vincenzo Bombelli

Vincenzo Bombelli, a graduate in Electronic Engineering from La Sapienza University of Rome, has over 30 years of experience in telecommunications, starting with satellite communications at Dataspazio (a joint venture between Telespazio and Datamat) and Motorola in Phoenix, USA, where he contributed to the IRIDIUM project. Since 1996, he has worked in mobile telephony, initially at Omnitel Pronto Italia (later Vodafone Italia), participating in the network startup of the second operator, and later at Wind, where he was involved in... [+] the launch, development, and consolidation of the network. During this period, he held various managerial positions, including Head of Planning, Engineering, and Network Development. He also began collaborating with Roma Tre University, delivering seminars on Mobile Telephony. In 2017, he joined Cellnex as CTO of Cellnex Italy, later becoming CTO of Cellnex Poland in Warsaw, overseeing the integration of the new country, and Corporate Director of Active Network in Barcelona, Spain. Upon returning to Italy, he assumed the role of Land Acquisition & Management Director at Cellnex Italy.

Antonella Lucci

Antonella Lucci is Head of Internal Audit & Risk Control at Cellnex Italy and the Alpine Cluster (Italy, Switzerland, and Austria). She joined Cellnex in December 2017 with responsibility for developing the Internal Audit model, assessing the adequacy of internal controls, and validating the risk management framework. Antonella began her career in the telecommunications sector in 1999 at Wind Telecomunicazioni, where from 2001 to 2017 she served as Internal Auditor.

Micaela Pellegrini

Micaela Pellegrini is Director of Public Affairs & External Communication at Cellnex Italy, responsible for managing external and institutional relations, as well as communication with stakeholders, government institutions, regulatory authorities, industry associations, media, and the public. Her role is strategic in ensuring that Cellnex’s interests are effectively represented and that the company’s positioning aligns with the political, economic, and social context. She brings decades of experience in institutional and communication roles, gained in complex and multi-sector environments. Before joining Cellnex,... She also led MV Build as CEO and Head of Institutional and Public Relations and held similar positions at Aeroservices Group, Poste Italiane, and Confitarma (Italian Shipowners’ Confederation).

Alessandro Prosdocimo

Alessandro Prosdocimo, a graduate in Electronic Engineering from the University of Padua, later earned an MBA from EADA Business School in Barcelona. With over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications sector, he began his career at Ericsson Telecomunicazioni S.p.A., where he held increasingly senior managerial roles in Italy and other Mediterranean countries, contributing to the launch and development of networks for some of the leading operators in the European and North African markets. Antonio Rita

Antonio Rita is Director of Strategy & Transformation at Cellnex Italy and plays a key role in defining and implementing the 2030 Strategic Plan, contributing to the alignment of national strategies with those of the Group at the European level. His professional career has developed in the telecommunications and digital transformation sectors, with significant experience at Open Fiber, where he served as Deputy Head of the Project Management Office for the BUL and Italia a 1Giga projects. In this role,... [+] he managed public investments of over €4 billion and coordinated activities across more than 7,000 Italian municipalities. After joining Cellnex Italy, he took responsibility for the Strategy and Transformation areas, focusing respectively on strategic planning and the development of innovation projects. He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from La Sapienza University of Rome and an Executive MBA from POLIMI Graduate School of Management. He is registered with both the Order of Engineers and the Order of Journalists in Rome, demonstrating his versatility and multidisciplinary approach.

Gherardo Zei

Gherardo Zei, a Law graduate from La Sapienza University of Rome, worked from 1987 within the Atlantia Group, most recently as Executive in charge of “Commercial and Contracts” at TowerCo. In 2014, following the acquisition of TowerCo, he joined the Cellnex family and currently serves as Steering Policies & Special Projects Director. He also holds positions as President of Federmanager Rome, National Councilor of Federmanager, Editor-in-Chief of the magazine Professione Dirigente, and Head of the negotiating delegation for the national...
