Challenges
Needs of MNOs to increase quality of service in terms of coverage and capacity in the center and overcrowded areas in Milan.
Solution
After an agreement with the municipality, Cellnex has been deploying the Multi-Operator Outdoor DAS system at street level using existing street furniture such as lampposts, traffic lights, buildings, etc., with all four MNOs on-board. In some cases, the radio units have been deployed also in the underground, minimizing the visual impact of the equipment in the city. Up to now more than 200 radio units for outdoor coverage have been deployed in Milano.
