Cellnex operations in Poland include construction and management of infrastructure of wireless telecommunications. As part of Cellnex Telecom, the leading European operator of wireless telecommunications and broadcasting infrastructures, Cellnex Poland currently owns 15, 500 towers, making it the biggest infrastructure operator in the Polish market.

Cellnex also offers the construction and management of private networks for business and government (e.g. for rail and road transport, transportation hubs), including security networks (e.g. for uniformed services, energy companies) and solutions for Smart Cities and Internet of Things.
History of Cellnex Poland
In October of 2020, Cellnex reached an agreement with Iliad to acquire a 60% controlling stake in Play Communication’s infrastructure. The value of the transaction was 830 mln Euro, and it included also the commitment to build further 4500 sites by 2030, resulting in an investment of up to 1.3 bln Euro.
In July 2021, Cellnex finalized a transaction with Cyfrowy Polsat Group regarding the acquisition of 99.99% of its telecommunications infrastructure, Polkomtel Infrastruktura.
The acquisition involved an investment of €1.6 billion by Cellnex, plus an additional programme to roll out up to c. 1,500 sites, as well as investments in active equipment for a further c. €600 million over the next 10 years.
These two acquisitions have positioned Poland as one of the major markets on Cellnex Group’s map and resulted in Cellnex becoming a significant player in the Polish telecommunications ecosystem.
