About Cellnex Portugal

The professionals who make up the Cellnex team have extensive experience and capability at the service of our customers and the goals we share. Responding to and delivering on those expectations is a central element of our mission. The team is headed by a group of people committed to forging an expanding business project with a growing global presence and a leadership role in the telecommunications infrastructure sector.

Marco Patuano

Marco Patuano is the company’s top-ranking executive. He has more than 25 years of experience at TIM (Italy) including as Group CEO (2011-2016), Chief Commercial Officer-CCO (2009-2010) and CFO (2008-2009). His career has spanned a number of markets in both Europe and Latin America. His directorships have also included Autogrill, Atlantia, GSM Association (GSMA), Utenti Pubblicita Associati and WAC Ltd, among others. Marco Patuano holds a Master’s Degree in Finance from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy.

Simone Battiferri

Simone Battiferri is the Chief Operating Officer of Cellnex Telecom. He has extensive experience in the telecommunications sector, where he has held numerous positions of responsibility. Among others, he has been CEO of Digixem360 (2022-2023), Executive Vice President of Telecom Italia (2010-2016), leading the ICT Solutions & Service Platforms Business, Business Market BU and Top Clients & Public Sector BU, Chairman of the Board of Olivetti (2014-2015) and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Telecom Argentina (2006-2010). [+] also has solid experience as board member of Italian and international companies, as well as an advisor in the ICT sector to several investment funds and founder or angel of several technology startups. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" (Italy) and has several Executive Education Programs.

Raimon Trias

Raimon Trias is the Chief Financial Officer of Cellnex Telecom. He has more than 20 years experience working for family businesses, private equity backed companies or with financial entities as shareholders. Among others, he has been CFO of Natra Group (2021-2023) and Nueva Pescanova Group (2016-2021). He also worked for 12 years in Celsa Group (2005-2016) holding positions of responsibility as CFO, systems and general manager of division in different countries such as Spain, the United Kingdom and Poland. Xavier Pujol Tobeña

Xavier Pujol is the General Secretary, Secretary of the Board of Directors (non-Director) and Corporate Affairs of Cellnex. He began his professional career at Cuatrecasas, was seconded to Herbert Smith and, afterwards was part of the team that launched Latham Watkins in Spain. He joined PRISA in 2013, one of the world’s largest Spanish and Portuguese-speaking media groups, as Deputy General Counsel. In 2017, he became the Secretary General and Secretary of the Board of Directors of PRISA. In September... [+] 2021, he joined Alantra as Partner and General Secretary. As a lawyer, he has advised on a wide range of corporate transactions in various sectors and has extensive experience in M&A, capital markets, corporate governance and restructurings. While at PRISA, he also assumed corporate functions in areas such as tax, human resources and compliance. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Law and a business law master from ESADE, is visiting student at the University of Minnesota and holds a PLD from IESE.

He has been Global Chief Audit Executive of Aleatica (2019-2023), Head of Internal Audit Spain & International of Ferrovial (2008-2019), Internal Audit Manager and Head of Financial Reporting and Accounting of Unión Fenosa (2000-2008) and Senior External Auditor of Deloitte (1998-2000).
