Cellnex appoints Daniel Pataki as Director of Regulation and European Affairs

Barcelona, 1 February 2024. Cellnex today announced the appointment of Daniel Pataki as the Company’s Director of Regulation and European Affairs. Pataki will report directly to Cellnex CEO Marco Patuano, and will join the Group’s Executive Committee.

The newly created function, which also involves the establishment of a Cellnex office in Brussels, is part of the new organisational structure announced last September within the Group’s new business strategy –announced in November 2022–, focused on accelerating organic growth and achieving an investment grade rating.

Daniel Pataki is joining Cellnex from GSMA, where the past 8 years, as Vice President for Policy and Regulation lead the global engagement on mobile-sector regulatory affairs. Daniel was also Head of Europe and Cis responsible for all GSMA initiatives in the wider European region.

Pataki has extensive experience in the strategic development of the European policy agenda in telecommunications, having been Head of Hungary’s National Regulatory Authority (2004-2009), Chairperson of the European Regulators Group (ERG, now BEREC, 2008) and Chairperson of the European Radio Spectrum Policy Group (RSPG, 2009). Daniel Pataki was also Director General of the European Telecommunications Network Operators’ association (ETNO, 2012-2015).
