Barcelona, 31 January 2023. Cellnex has been recognised for second consecutive year by 2022 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI). The modified market capitalization-weighted index developed to gauge the performance of public companies dedicated to reporting gender-related data, has selected 484 companies from 45 countries and regions, 11 sectors and 54 industries for 2023.
Cellnex, which repeats as a member of the selective, has improved its score by 4.3 points obtaining an overall score of 77.73 points (73.40 points in 2022). The company, which continues to maintain a high score in transparency and disclosure of information, has significantly improved its performance in the ‘Data Excellence’ component (c. +10%), which contributes 70% to the overall score.
The Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index recognizes Cellnex’s commitment to advancing gender equality in the labour market by rolling out policies and initiatives to promote women’s professional careers and greater female representation in the organization. Likewise, it has valued the efforts that the company has been making in recent years to continue advancing in equal pay & gender pay parity, female leadership and talent promotion, inter alia.
The index helps to improve transparency on practices and policies related to gender equality and diversity in listed companies, increasing the quality of information in relation to environmental, social and corporate governance criteria (ESG) available to the capital markets. This reference index measures gender equality across five pillars: leadership & talent pipeline, equal pay & gender pay parity, inclusive culture, anti-sexual harassment policies, and external brand.
“Congratulations to the companies that are included in the 2023 GEI,” said Peter T. Grauer, Chairman of Bloomberg and Founding Chairman of the U.S. 30% Club. “We continue to see an increase in both interest and membership globally, reflecting a shared goal of transparency in gender-related metrics.”
Yolanda Menal, Global People Director of Cellnex, underlined that “the improvement in our score in an index such as Bloomberg’s Gender-Equality reaffirms our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, basic pillars of our corporate culture.
