Cellnex reinforces its position as the TowerCo sustainability leader with a clear roadmap to 2030

Consistent ESG excellence keeps Cellnex as the only TowerCo in Dow Jones Best-in-Class Europe

Madrid, 7 May 2026.- Cellnex has consolidated its position as a global sustainability leader, supported by strong ESG performance and recognition from leading sustainability ratings and indices. Building on this track record, the company has set a clear ambition to become the TowerCo leader in safety, efficiency, and resilience by 2030.

Cellnex’s new Sustainability Master Plan 2030 embeds sustainability across operations and strategic decision-making. The plan positions Cellnex to lead the energy transition, operate safely and efficiently, adapt to climate change, and deliver longterm value for stakeholders and society, fully aligned with the Group’s long-term value creation strategy.

In 2025, Cellnex successfully completed its 2021–2025 ESG Master Plan, and delivered solid and measurable progress across environmental, social and governance (ESG) dimensions: 100% renewable electricity, 64% reduction of the carbon footprint, 32% women in management positions, 92% sites operated under ISO-certififed QHSE management systems and 98% critical suppliers assessed using ESG criteria. These achievements represent a key milestone in the Group’s long-term sustainability journey and pave the way for the deployment of its new ambition.

Consistently strong ESG performance and international recognition

Throughout 2025, Cellnex maintained a leading position across the main international ESG ratings, reflecting the consistency and credibility of its sustainability strategy. The company achieved a score of 82 points in S&P Global, 13.3 in Sustainalytics (Low Risk), AAA in MSCI, 4.3 in FTSE4Good, A-List in CDP and 93 points in Ecovadis, among other recognitions.

As part of this strong ESG performance, Cellnex remains in the Dow Jones Best‑in‑Class Europe Index in the telecommunication sector for the third consecutive year, as only TowerCo represented and the first Spanish company, consolidating its position among Europe’s leading companies in sustainability. In the 2025 S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment, Cellnex improved its overall score to 82 points. The company achieved top scores (100 points) in key areas such as Transparency & Reporting, Business Ethics and Occupational Health & Safety.

As a result of this performance, Cellnex was included for the fourth consecutive year in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook and, for the second year in a row, ranked among the 500 most sustainable companies in the world in Time-Statista ranking, reaching 18th position globally and placing third both in the communications infrastructure sector and in Spain. These acknowledgements further confirm Cellnex’s firm commitment to integrating sustainability into its business model and decision-making processes.

“Our presence as the only TowerCo in the S&P BestinClass Europe Index shows that sustainability is deeply embedded in how we operate. Through our Sustainability Master Plan 2030, we are accelerating our ambition to deliver safer, more efficient and more resilient infrastructure for our customers and society., said Alicia Fernández del Viso, Sustainability Director at Cellnex.

Tangible results in climate action and environmental management

Between 2021 and 2025, Cellnex delivered significant progress in climate action, achieving a 64% absolute reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared with the FY20 baseline. The Group now operates its more than 113,000 sites in Europe with 100% renewable electricity.

These milestones are aligned with Cellnex’s long-term climate ambition, to become Net Zero by 2050, formally validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

Social commitment and focus on people engagement

Cellnex also made notable progress in the social dimension of its sustainability strategy. In 2025, the company obtained the Top Employer certification in Spain, recognising its people management practices and employee value proposition. Employee engagement continued to improve, with higher participation and engagement levels in the internal Pulse Survey compared with the previous year.

Talent development and international mobility remained key priorities: 48% of vacancies were filled by internal candidates from different countries, reinforcing a culture of internal growth, cross-border collaboration and knowledge sharing across the Group.

Governance and leadership at European level

In 2025, Cellnex further strengthened its governance and external engagement by playing a leading role within the European Wireless Infrastructure Association (EWIA). The company chaired the ESG Working Group, a forum that for the first time brought together Europe’s main TowerCos to define a shared sustainability approach for the sector.

Under Cellnex’s coordination, the Working Group has worked proactively to align methodologies and criteria related to carbon footprint accounting, double materiality assessment and CSRD reporting.
