Cellnex statement on Vodafone-Zegona agreement

We are pleased to announce the renewal of our framework agreement with Vodafone Spain, a long-standing organically acquired customer hosted on our infrastructure for many years. The agreement covers approximately 2,000 existing Points of Presence (PoPs) and has now been successfully extended for an additional 10 years under unchanged technical and financial terms.

This renewal is a strong endorsement of the quality of our infrastructure, the resilience of our industrial partnerships, and our ability to support our customers’ long-term network requirements. It also reinforces the critical role that independent tower operators play in enabling the ongoing deployment, densification and enhancement of 5G networks across Europe.

As we are seeing across our European footprint, mobile network operators continue to require additional sites to improve coverage, capacity and service quality, particularly in dense urban areas. Following a competitive commercial process, we reached an agreement under which Cellnex will additionally host a small fraction of the legacy 2,000 site base on its existing sites, in the order of the low hundreds.

Importantly, Cellnex will not invest to replicate existing sites. Any incremental revenue contribution is expected to materialise only after 2028. Furthermore, any additional PoPs contracted by Vodafone Spain will be deployed under the same commercial principles and framework governing the renewed agreement.

This agreement further reinforces Cellnex’s proven ability to consistently renew and extend long-term customer contracts, reflecting the strength of our industrial partnerships, the strategic importance of our infrastructure, and the trust that our customers place in Cellnex as a long-term partner to support their network evolution and connectivity ambition.
