Cellnex strengthens its position as a climate leader in the CDP A-list
For the 7th consecutive year Cellnex earns CDP “A List” recognition, and enhances its Science-Based Targets with a Net-Zero Goal
Barcelona, 9 January 2026.- Cellnex reaffirms its climate leadership as the only TowerCo to secure a place on CDP’s A List —the Gold Standard in Climate Reporting— for seven consecutive years.
Cellnex is firmly committed to decarbonising its operations, having reduced global Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions by over 50% since 2020 through renewable energy procurement, long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), on-site solar generation and robust engagement with suppliers and customers. Cellnex is also recognised by CDP as Supplier Engagement Leader, as one of the top performers worldwide in how it works with its suppliers to tackle climate change.
Reaffirming its commitment to climate action, Cellnex has strengthened its Net-Zero roadmap, validated by SBTi: achieving a 70% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030, sourcing 100% renewable electricity by 2025, and mobilising 82% of suppliers and customers to set science-based targets, with the ultimate ambition of Net-Zero by 2050.
Alicia Fernández del Viso, Sustainability Director, remarks: “For us, the CDP A-list recognition is the result of a collective effort across the company—led by our CEO and senior management.” In addition, Yolanda Romero, Head of Environment and Climate Change, highlights: “To achieve climate leadership requires strong partnerships with our suppliers and customers. At Cellnex, we keep raising the bar by pursuing innovative ways of working and exploring cross‑sector best practices”.
With this recognition, Cellnex reinforces its position as an international benchmark in climate action, aligning its growth with its ambitious decarbonisation objectives and contributing to the sustainability of the telecommunications sector.
